Day 4 - May 4th

Where do I begin? First of all, hello to all of you!!! I just got home 30 minutes ago from a rehearsal. This morning I woke up with a very itchy throat. Not good at all :( I immediately called my head teacher at work and left a message that I can't go to work. Then I called up our office telling the same thing. After that I sent a text message to my vocal coach requesting if I can move my lesson to Saturday instead of Thursday. Obviously, because of my voice condition. OK, I have to stay positive although my body seems to give up on me. I carried on doing what I have to do. I thought I could not even go to BDC to take a dance class. I ate my healthy breakfast. Fat free Muesli with Fat Free milk and raw honey, all from Trader Joe's then stayed on my bed for a bit. I took my vitamins and supplements and Advil just to make sure I'll be alright. I had my oral anesthetic ready after brushing my teeth. It is an oral spray to numb the throat for me to feel better. After one hour I felt better. While still on my bed, I checked my FB page and email for any important messages. I looked at BDC's class schedule and decided to take Beginner Theater class with Lainie Munro.

For lunch, I prepared and made this...

Health-Conscious Meal #4

So, I had steamed Brocolli, a cup of brown jasmine rice from Thailand, and a slice of lean grilled chicken dash with a small amount of pepper and crystal sea salt from South Africa. I have 1 piece of plums from Chile  and a glass of water (actually I had more than 1 glass), my favorite drink of all :) All products were purchased at Trader Joe's.

Fitness Class #4
Type of Class: Beginner Theater
Instructor: Lainie Munro

Lainie, Lainie, Lainie!!! An awesome person :) I have been taking her class for several times now and I'm enjoying it. You are probably wondering, what the heck are we holding and showing here? Well, it is our quote for today's class. Lainie always start with a beautiful quote and she will post it in front of the mirror or on the side walls so, we can all be reminded on how each one of us is created in a special way. It is really uplifting and serves as a booster for all students before we start moving our bodies. How cool is that? And our quote for today is "IT IS GOOD TO HAVE AN END TO JOURNEY TOWARD; BUT IT IS THE JOURNEY THAT MATTERS, IN THE END." by Ernest Hemingway. Yes, we danced with the hat as you can see in the picture; to the tune of "Le Jazz Hot" from Victor/Victoria Broadway cast recording sung by Julie Andrews.

Daily Practice #4
Minutes: 30
Songs worked on: Daily Vocalizations Exercises #1-4, Review alto part of "Because" from Across The Universe.

Yey! Finally I was able to burn a CD of the Daily Vocalizations before I left my apartment today and guess what? Ripley-Grier gave me studio 16E to practice. What a blessing, I paid $5 for 30 minutes for a bigger studio :) :) :) I would say, I am really lucky and my vocalization practice went well in my honest judgment and opinion. I did not force my voice and only sang what I can reach since my voice condition is not full. It didn't hurt my throat and the voice is still coming out. Quality wise, I would say not bad considering I have an itchy throat. The oral anesthetic and drinking lots of fluid (H2O) helped me a lot! I went out of the studio satisfied with my daily practice and had my dinner at the pantry lounge.

At 6:30pm, we started rehearsing our 2 musical numbers for the showcase this coming Sunday. Below, you will see some of the cast members and Kurt Robinson who is our vocal coach director briefing us with his notes regarding our rehearsals. My day ended well, I felt great, and  my body and my throat didn't hurt that much. Thank you Lord for your mercy and blessings! Until next blogging folks. Below, I have provided our video rehearsals for you to have a sneak peek of what's going to happen in our showcase this Sunday. Goodnight everyone....signing off....'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz :)
