Day 3 - May 3rd

Good afternoon, everyone!

I hope you are all feeling great. As for this morning, I have decided not to do anything and just take a rest. I have to take care of my voice as it is my primary instrument in singing and teaching. It has been a grueling experience joggling my schedule between my full-time job, taking classes at BDC, taking a free weekly Pilates, Yoga, and Total Body work out at my University with a certified instructor, and attending rehearsals for the 3 showcases that I am in. I am always use to working hard but today is a special day that I set aside for my whole-being and my body who needs that respect. After taking that needed rest, I will go to Ripley-Grier Studio to practice lightly as my vocal coach have advised me to do. I will review the alto part of "Because" from Across The Universe from our showcase and will do a light vocalization. Later on, I will celebrate the LIGHT End-of-Year dinner with my fellow St. John's University Campus Ministry and fellow STJ students. LIGHT stands for Ladies In God's Hands Together which was created by a campus minister, Erin Hoffman who works at St. John's. LIGHT is a faith community and we gather once a month to reflect and share our experiences inside and outside the campus and how we affect or how we are affected by the surroundings and the community that we are in. I am looking forward to meeting and seeing these group of people as they energize my spirit and it gives me strength to face and embrace my next challenge whenever I hear their sharings.

For a start, I prepared my health conscious meal which you will see below... I will add up some photos later tonight once I'm done with my daily practice. Until next blogging folks :)

Health-Conscious Meal #3



For my lunch, I prepared this meal myself and all products are from Trader Joe's whom I am happy about because it's located in the neighborhood where I live. For my main dish, I prepared a whole wheat organic spaghetti and Organic Marinara Sauce with Seafood Blend (Farmed Shrimp, Scallop, and Wild Squid from Thailand). For my greens/salad, I have 4 small pieces of carrots and 4 slices of celery hearts. For my fruit, I have 1 piece of Navel Orange and of course plenty of water to drink.
